On July 17, 2021 the theme park Fantasiana in Strasswalchen (Austria) opened the „Project Merlin„. For the eighth theme area of the amusement park, an area of 5,000 m² were transformed into the magical village with a medieval look with great attention to detail.
A sophisticated surround concept of audio, video and light elements was developed for the entire area.
With our Pro VP™ video players in the „Videowall 3D“ version, the waiting time in the train station is shortened in a playful way. In the magical village, oversized monitors decorate the walls of the houses, which are filled with video content according to the respective show.
Our ProCommander® HX’s control all elements in the entire area and ensure, among many other things, that every light changes color at the right time.
Ultimately, this creates complete immersion, in which lights, music and all magical effects are perfectly synchronized and ensure magical moments for the guests.
Weigl Control was privileged to contribute a wide range of show control and media playback for the spectacular rebirth of Piraten in Batavia at Germany’s Europa Park. The iconic dark ride’s new incarnation opened in July as a completely reimagined, immersive attraction filled with cutting edge technologies. Weigl unveiled its latest innovations on the flagship ProCommander® HX, now supporting advanced audio, AES-67 (RAVENNA AES67 network-based audio distribution (AoIP)), PTP sync, 16 universes of Art-Net and sACN and tightly synchronized animatronics connected via CANOpen and other emerging motion control technologies. Over 70 Weigl ProCommander® and Pro I/O™ controllers operate in tight network synchronization with AES-67 audio and lighting controls to provide a new benchmark in coordinated control for large dark rides. Weigl worked closely with partners such as Garner Holt Productions, who designed much of the show and produced most of its animatronics, LifeFormations, Hofmann-Figuren, Sally Dark Rides, and Kraftwerk to breathe new life into a beloved, classic attraction.
